Winning Eleven 7 Details
Online play, cover athlete, and more! May 22, 2003 - Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo announced today that Winning Eleven 7, the latest in the long running soccer series, will feature full online support using the Playstation 2 Broadband Unit. Scheduled for release in Japan on August 7, Winning Eleven 7 also features a new shop mode that allows players to learn new plays. With 64 clubs to choose from, as well as the acquisition of the Japanese and Korean soccer licenses, Winning Eleven 7 sounds like it will be another, er, winner. In addition to the date, Konami revealed that the game's cover star for the Japanese market will be none other than Zico, the coach of the Japanese national team who late last year replaced Philippe Troussier following Japan's strong showing in the World Cup. Have a look at the box art for the game to the right. Unfortunately, more details and screenshots for the game have yet to be made available to the public.
