non sapevo della tua passione per i queen,forse ne hai di più forti,a mointreux ci sei stato di recente??? so che ogni anno il 5 settembre c'è il raduno dei fan queeniani nel luogo dove si trova la statua in suo onore LOVER OF LIFE,SINGER OF SONGS. tu l'hai visitata??? hai visto la duckhouse??? io ci sono stati anni fa e devo dire che conservo un ricordo visivo stupendo...e che mi dici dei mitici MOUNTAINS STUDIOS,dove i queen registrarono gli ultimi 3 album a partire dal 1989,miracle,innuendo e made in heaven??? so che ora è più che un pub o ritrovo turistico... p.s.(vedi firma mointreuxiana)

Italian Band Honour Freddie
Excellent metal band, “MERENDINE ATOMICHE” (www.merendineatomiche.com), will be playing a show on November 24 at Ricky’s – Villa del Conte (PD) – Italy.

Dai Queen a cancelliere onorario dell'Università John More Brian May, chitarrista dei Queen, e' stato nominato cancelliere onorario dell'Università John More di Liverpool, carica in cui succederà a Cherie Blair, la moglie dell'ex premier britannico Tony Blair. Lo scorso agosto, il musicista aveva ottenuto un dottorato in astrofisica, dopo aver ripreso a studiare nel 2006. May aveva interrotto gli studi nel 1974 per dedicarsi interamente alla musica insieme ai Queen. Con questo nuovo riconoscimento, Brian dovrà rappresentare l'ateneo in occasioni speciali e partecipare alla cerimonie di consegna dei diplomi. Michael Brown, vice-cancelliere e direttore della John More, ha detto che è raro trovare qualcuno come Brian May che, pur essendo ricco e famoso, riesce a conservare inalterata l'aderenza a certi valori fondamentali. Nuova Canzone Dal 1' Dicembre Scaricabile Free
QUEEN AND PAUL RODGERS RIDE AGAIN!
FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER A STUDIO SINGLE ... Well folks ... We had a frenetic few days ... about last Friday, we made a snap decision that we'd like to offer a track for World AIDS Day - a track which we've been enjoying in the studio ... Those who saw Queen plus P.R. on tour last year might remember that Roger sang a contemplative little song called "Say It's Not True" in our acoustic set ... Well, the idea came up to bring this song into the fold, as something Paul, Roger and I could put our collective stamp on .... and, in the atmosphere of 'good chemistry', the song grew rapidly into ... well, a modest Epic, I would say ! We all sing on it, it takes a new direction, and it packs a lot of surprises ... Our intention is to give the track away completely free for World AIDS Day - which is this weekend - so suddenly we had to pull out all the stops and really complete this recording ... So that's where I've been, this rainy night, until 6am ... down at Roger's studio, slaving over a hot mixer! I'm very excited about the way it sounds ... pretty adventurous, I think, and it has important things to say ... So it goes to mastering this morning ... and ... should emerge .... momentarily!! It's BIG!!! Watch this space! We haven't done this for a very long time ... but somehow the spirit of Queen has been very strong, the last few days ... and Paul has been in magnificent voice, I'm sure you will agree ... As for guitars ... they are not lacking ... I got some sore fingers along the way ... no holds barred .. Well, enough said - the track is perfectly capable of speaking for itself .... Cheers Bri © brianmay.com ... bene ragazzi non dico l'eccitazione per una canzone che roger taylor ha gia scritto e cantato nel 2003 in versione acustica eseguita durante il tour del 2005,ma ora completamente rivisitata in chiave rock dalla nuova band,il testo è bellissimo ed è un inno alla sensibilizzazione contro l'hiv,quindi verrà eseguita il 1 dicembre durante il concerto 46664,a tal proposito vi chiedo dove si potrebbe seguire il concerto live in diretta qui in italia da qualche parte,oppure sul pc... ottimo anche il fatto che il singolo sarà scaricabile GRATUITAMENTE dai siti di brian may www.queenonline.com eccetera quindi sono soddisfattissimo se il nuovo album riguarderà nei testi sopratutto la sensibilizzazione contro l'aids.è la giusta direzione,credo che freddie sarebbe molto contento se vedesse i suoi compagni contribuire scrivendo musica nella lotta all'aids.

Il brano in questione si intitola "Say It's Not True" e sarà disponibile in free download in occasione del concerto benefico previsto per sabato a Johannesburg. La canzone nasce originariamente nel novembre 2003 per il lancio della Campagna Mondiale del 46664 HIV AIDS, come personale omaggio a Nelson Mandela e venne eseguita dal vivo insieme a Dave Stewart durante il concerto di Cape Town nello stesso mese. Il testo della canzone pone l'accento sul fatto che l'HIV può colpire chiunque a prescindere dall'orientamento sessuale o razziale. "Say It's Not True" è stato riproposta in versione acustica da Roger Taylor durante il tour dei Queen + Paul Rodgers del 2005, ogni volta dedicato agli sforzi di Mandela per sensibilizzare le persone ed i politici alla lotta contro l'HIV. Attualmente in studio per la prima sessione di registrazioni dopo il successo ottenuto dal tour mondiale a cavallo tra il 2005 ed il 2006, i Queen e Paul Rodgers hanno deciso di incidere il brano e di fare di "Say It's Not True" il messaggio della band a supporto di Mandela per quest'anno.
